The Boardwalk Is Alive

People taking a chilly tour in May.

The Grace Lake Boardwalk isn’t just a trail, it’s a community hub, and this season it’s more alive than ever!

One of the best things about the Grace Lake Boardwalk and Boreal Trail is that it’s open to everyone, year-round. Whether you’re snowshoeing through a quiet winter landscape, watching the ice thaw in spring, or soaking in the sights and sounds of a boreal summer, there’s always something to discover. No admission, no barriers, just nature, right on the doorstep of The Pas.

That accessibility has made it a favourite destination for school groups across the region. Teachers have brought their classes out for experiential learning days and hands-on ecosystem lessons, using the trail and boardwalk as a living classroom. From studying aquatic habitats and boreal plant life to spotting wildlife and learning about the land’s Indigenous history, Grace Lake offers the kind of real-world learning that no textbook can replicate.

The trail has welcomed all kinds of groups over the seasons ; wellness walkers, seniors’ groups, youth organizations, church groups, and community associations, all finding their own reason to connect with the outdoors at Grace Lake. It’s that kind of place: it fits whatever you need it to be, whether that’s quiet reflection, gentle exercise, or a shared adventure with people you care about.

If your school, group, club, or organization is looking for a meaningful outdoor experience, we’d love to host you. Reach out at opasquiatrails@gmail.com to book a group visit or tour. we’re always happy to help make it a great day on the trail.
